I chose these photographs because of the images or the text used on the monuments.
Below the text reads: BORN IN MEETEETSE, WYO. APRIL 6, 1900. OWNED AND OPERATED THE BASIN RANCH AND SPENT HIS ENTIRE ACTIVE LIFE HERE. DIED SUDDENLY AT THERMOPOLIS, WYO. SEPTEMBER 22, 1952.
The text found below the date of death reads: Earth has been better for they life. A christian mother fond and true. A noble faithful loving wife.
On the next two grave markers are images not unique to the West and are used on grave markers for babies and infants. The lamb or sheep image depicts innocence.
The text below reads: AS GOOD A RIDER AS EVER RODE A "BRONK." AS GOOD A MAN AS EVER WORE SPURS. ERECTED BY ADMIRING FRIENDS.
