Kirby, Wyoming

After Thermopolis and East Thermopolis (which are on different sides of the railroad tracks), the only other town in Hot Springs County is Kirby. It is just 12 miles north of Thermop on US-20.

Butch's Place, a restaurant and bar, attracts people to this small town. It is known for its giant hamburgers. Click here for the highway advertisement of this restaurant.

The Kirby town hall and office (below) is also the place where residents get their mail.

Wyoming Whiskey is building a distillery in Kirby.

Below is the old jail.

The rest of the photographs are things that caught my eye as we strolled through the town a couple of days ago. These shots are NOT representative of the town. The homes are ordinary for a small town like this. The buildings below attracted my attention because most of them stand empty.

To find the exact location of East Fifth and South Gebo (above), click here for a satellite image and street grid.
